Ecosystem Diagram
LandLords
A legal entity that manages the evaluation, financing, and brokerage of agricultural land on blockchain. It proactively explores market opportunities and also looks for business proposals from farmers that align with the values of the Regenerative DAO. LandLords manages the “Rating” process, bringing property and its holding of land on-chain.
It is business-oriented, serving as an investment channel for DeFi, and acts as the “arm” of the project.
Regenerative DAO
A decentralized community implementing sustainable and regenerative practices for agricultural land management. It manages processes such as the Land Evaluation System, Soil Enhancement System, and Smart Rentals, offering support, knowledge, and incentives to Freeholder Farmers.
The Regenerative DAO serves as the “head” of the community, providing vision, governance, and sustainable direction.
Farmland
The land itself, which is identified, evaluated, and made available for intermediation and management through the protocol. Managed sustainably and regeneratively by the Regenerative DAO and Freeholder Farmers, ensuring that its productivity and soil quality improve over time.
Freeholder Farmers
Initially financed by DeFi investors, they autonomously manage the land with support from the Regenerative DAO and guidance from the Soil Enhancement System (SES). While they can’t create new land, they add real value by making the land more productive and resilient. This enhancement allows them to generate additional land tokens over time, moving from tenants to owners as they accumulate enough token.s to cover the rental cost.
DeFi
Is enriched by our DApp giving the opportunity to invest in agricultural land in a new and efficient way. Investors receive land tokens corresponding to the invested value, being able to hold a deflationary, stable and liquid asset, that provides returns on chain.
Land Evaluation System
An advanced machine learning algorithm designed to evaluate agricultural land accurately and transparently. It provides a dynamic evaluation of land value and quality based on various data such as soil fertility, climatic conditions, and sustainable agricultural practices.
Land Evaluation Standard
Also reffered as rating it assigns a number of land tokens to each considered land based on market valuations and the Soil Evaluation System. This process determines the value and fungibility of the land, making tokenization more efficient and accessible to investors.
Soil Enhancement System
A study system based on machine learning that seeks to understand how to improve the rating of land to generate new land tokens. It provides Freeholder Farmers with guidelines on optimizing soil management for greater productivity and long-term yields.
Farmland Tokenization
Tokenization transforms agricultural land into digital assets, with ownership documents securely stored on the blockchain. This integration with the DeFi ecosystem allows for fractional ownership and provides liquidity, enabling commodity-like trading and investment in farmland.
Land Standard
The Land Standard refers to a system where land value becomes a fundamental measure of wealth, investment, and economic stability, much like the gold standard once anchored currencies. By using land as a benchmark, LandLords aims to create a stable, tangible asset base for investments, supported by the inherent and growing value of agricultural land.
Agricolture 6.0
A transformative model that integrates the best of decentralization, sustainability, technology, and community-driven governance. It represents a paradigm shift in farming, where ownership is democratized, knowledge is shared, and land management is focused on long-term regeneration rather than short-term exploitation. This human-centered, cooperative model not only enhances the resilience and productivity of farms but also fosters economic equity and environmental stewardship on a global scale.
Distribution Channel
The Distribution Channels in the LandLords project will be designed to create new opportunities for profit by streamlining the process of distributing and transforming agricultural products. These channels not only provide higher margins for Freeholder Farmers but also deliver value to investors and the protocol itself. By integrating blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized logistics, these channels ensure that agricultural products can be distributed and transformed in the most efficient, transparent, and profitable way possible.
Regenerative Practices
LandLords integrates regenerative farming practices, focusing on soil health and sustainable land management. Farmers improve land quality through the Soil Enhancement System (SES), boosting the land’s value in the Land Evaluation System (LES). By tokenizing farmland, investors can profit while supporting sustainability. Farmers are empowered to manage and eventually own their land, benefiting from both increased productivity and land value, creating a win-win for both investors and the environment.

Ethereum Block-chain
Blockchain Overview and Key Features
Blockchain is a decentralized, secure digital ledger that ensures transparency, immutability, and security by recording transactions across multiple computers. Its core features include:
- Decentralization: No single entity controls the network, ensuring resilience and trust.
- Transparency: Transactions are visible to all participants, fostering accountability.
- Immutability: Once recorded, transactions cannot be altered, providing a reliable and tamper-proof record.
- Security: Uses cryptography to protect data and ensure the integrity of transactions.
Why Ethereum and Layer 2 for LandLords
Ethereum Layer 1 is the foundation of LandLords’ tokenization system, providing the security, decentralization, and trust needed to handle valuable real-world assets like farmland. Land Tokens and LORDS are deployed on Layer 1 to ensure these assets are protected by Ethereum’s proven security model.
However, for processes that require high-frequency transactions—like staking rewards, governance participation, and dynamic calculations—LandLords uses Layer 2 solutions. By offloading these operations to Layer 2, we dramatically reduce gas fees, ensure faster transaction times, and provide a smoother user experience without sacrificing the security of the core assets.
This hybrid model ensures that LandLords can scale efficiently while maintaining the transparency and decentralization that blockchain offers.
Modular Smart Contracts for Tokenization and Staking
The LandLords protocol utilizes a modular cross-layer architecture:
Ethereum Layer 1 handles core token functions, such as the issuance of Land Tokens (representing fractional ownership of farmland) and LORDS tokens for governance and staking.
Layer 2 is used for more complex, high-volume processes like:
- Staking and rewards: Stakers are rewarded in WLORDS, with calculations and reward distributions handled on Layer 2 to ensure efficiency.
- Governance processes: Voting and governance participation occur off-chain via Layer 2 to reduce costs and enable faster decision-making.
- Dynamic land evaluation: The Land Evaluation System (LES) and Soil Enhancement System (SES) rely on Layer 2 for real-time data processing and evaluations, ensuring scalability as the system grows.
This modular structure allows for seamless interaction between Layer 1 and Layer 2, ensuring the system is both secure and cost-efficient. By using Layer 1 for the most critical asset management functions and Layer 2 for scalable, everyday operations, LandLords creates a highly optimized and secure platform.
